    Here is a
    used pair of Starrett 39-12 lock-joint inside calipers in the 12" size.  This style caliper has the fine adjustment knob.
    They work good but have some stain spots on both sides where rust was removed with a Scotchbrite pad.  Cosmetic only, you may be able to buff some of the spots out.  There is a previous owner stamp on them at the top.   I am not sure if Starrett still makes these, I only see the lock-joint transfer type on their website which is part # 37-12 and they run 9 new.
