Walt Disney Studio 1960 Theatre Lobby Photo Jane Wyman Karl Malden Anne Seymour
Historic Walt Disney Studio Auctions by Saturday's Toys presents...
an historic vintage photograph... captured during production on Walt Disney's "Pollyanna" (1960).
This particular photo features three of the film's featured actors:  Academy Award winner (Streetcar Named Desire) Karl Malden (as Rev. Ford), Academy Award winner (Johnny Belinda) Jane Wyman (as Polly Harrington, Pollyanna's aunt), and Anne Seymour (as Amelia Tarbell; a self-proclaimed woman of importance in the town of Harrington).  Notably, Jane Wyman was the former wife of Ronald Reagan.
The film was shot on location in Santa Rosa and throughout the Napa Valley... and it shows.  It is among the most beautiful locations ever accessed in the production of a Walt Disney film.
The film opened to popular acclaim in May 1960 at Radio City Music Hall.  Between scheduled performances of the film, Annette Funicello was the featured performer... along with an elaborate stage production worthy of the Rockettes.  The film featured young Hayley Mills in her first acting assignment in America... and when the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded her history's final "Juvenile Academy Award", it was Annette who accepted the award on Hayley's behalf.
Photo is in excellent condition; a vintage original from 1960.  Noted as Disney photo archive number: POL-132.
Measures 8" x 10"; as released to theatres nationwide.
    Suitable for framing.
(additional photo for illustration only; not included with auction)

    Saturday’s Toys and Disneyana Auctions
was founded in 1994 by Southern California author and Disney historian, Dave Mason. Soon after eBay's launch the following year, Saturday's Toys was among the first Disneyana specialists to strategize in embracing this rapidly developing technology. Having delivered over 10,000 coveted Disney treasures since then, Saturday's Toys is pleased to partner with researchers, collectors and friends throughout the world with a shared interest in the preservation of authentic and accurate Disney history.
Today, online offerings of archival Disneyana keepsakes are presented in celebration of the extended times that allow for family, friends and neighbors to join in memorable gatherings that nurture the strong connections that bind a community together. These treasures are affectionately known as "Saturday's Toys." In that light we present our adopted motto (with a tip of the cap to the Sherman Brothers):
"Oh, let's go fly a kite!"
